400 YEARS: Black History Commission Act

On the heels of Juneteenth, America is preparing for August 20th, the anniversary of the first registered slaves arriving in Jamestown, VA from England to be exchanged for food, then later auctioned as indentured servants.  Congress enacted the African American Commission Act in remembrance of the slaves.
